connected welcomes Darksidevinyl to the label this March, delivering his stunning two-track EP ‘Inyembezi’ alongside Ayah Tlhanyane. Hailing from Egypt, Vienna-based DJ and producer Darksidevinyl is a multifaceted talent with a passion for contemporary Afro sounds and progressive melodies. He has released material via Go Deeva Records, Wired and Selador whilst regularly performing at local clubs and events in Austria. He now joins forces with vocalist Ayah Tlhanyane on the alluring ‘Inyembezi’ for his latest offering. The record opens with the delightfully deep ‘Inyembezi’, a Zulu term for tears. The track combines luscious chords with soothing pads and subtle melodic touches to create a slow-building experience, whilst laying the focus on Ayah’s captivating and soulful vocals. ‘Ekon’ serves up an electronic work of art; sensual drum programming and distorted tones play together below the surface as soaring synths, and chuggy kicks roll between euphoric keys.
